This is a great find if you love reading. Project Gutenberg has free e-books to download!

There is no registration or sign-up fee required. They do mention if you like them to make a small donation or volunteer to digitize more books.

Apparently over 100,000 books have been digitized by volunteers and can be downloaded onto your PC, iPad, Kindle, Android, Sony Reader, iPhone, or other portable device.

Here are a few of the books I see…

  • Dracula by Bram Stoker (2002)
  • The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas père (1791)
  • Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm (1738)
  • A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (1658)
  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain (1614)
  • Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka (1587)
  • The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli (1566)
  • The Bible, Old and New Testaments, King James Version (1549)

Just go here to start looking!

Also, the Lubbock Library has free eBooks and videos you can download online if you go here.
